Interstate Hotels & Resorts Business Development Sales Director, Craig Bingham, has joined the board of beam, the trade association for the business events, accommodation, and meetings industry.

The board has doubled in size from six to 12 directors to strengthen its structure and fulfil an exciting and ambitious new strategy.

Craig said: I am thrilled to be joining the beam board at this exciting time. The industry has gone through a period of major disruption over the past two years and is now implementing changes to suit the new ways of doing business events and meetings.

“I’m joining the board as an Industry Relations Director with the remit of attracting and retaining members and garnering support for events and special initiatives. I’ll also be focusing on transient accommodation, meetings, ancillaries and travel when it is linked to accommodation and meetings.”

Driven by leaders, united by collaboration, and representing £84bn* spend into the UK economy, beam spearheads representation to government and policymakers, elevating a sector voice, championing change, and sustainable economic health.

The organisation is underpinned by four pillars: Resilience, Innovation, Ethics, and Quality.

beam drives, promotes, and models good business between its members. It champions best practices, ethical working, and sound commercial judgment, making beam membership the mark of quality assurance for the sector.

“It is a huge honour to be on the board with other industry leaders and I’m looking forward to getting to know the membership base and working to ensure that we are serving the industry in well,” added Craig.

The new directors have been appointed to support the association’s new broader membership and focus.

Sian Sayward, beam Governance Director commented: “To remain relevant, sustainable and to become industry-leading, we have expanded and strengthened our leadership board to support our growing membership and partners, which come from more diverse areas of our industry. Our new board will ensure that our voice as an industry is louder, and our future is stronger.”
