Lisa Steele is the general manager for the brand new AC Hotel Belfast as it prepares for opening in spring 2018.
Bringing a wealth of experience with her, Scottish-born Lisa boasts a hotel management degree from the University of Strathclyde and has working for a number of hotels across the country, including most recently the Malmaison in Belfast and Hotel Du Vin in Edinburgh.
Lisa said: “I am absolutely delighted to be working with Interstate Europe Hotels & Resorts as general manager for this wonderful hotel, the AC Hotel Belfast. The role really attracted me as since my days at university it has always been my dream to open a new hotel as a general manager and to come back to Belfast to achieve this is just perfect. I know the city well having worked here in the past so I’m really pleased to get started as the countdown to opening begins.
“I’m passionate about the hospitality industry having been involved since a child when my parents owned their own hotel so I’m looking forward to making my mark as we aim to position ourselves as the hotel in Belfast to stay and eat. It’s also important to me that we establish our reputation as a great employer who looks after its staff and provides long term career opportunities for them. I can’t wait to get going!”
The new-build hotel is the first Marriott to open in Northern Ireland and when it opens its doors in spring 2018 it will boast 188 bedrooms and a signature restaurant courtesy of celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, which will overlook the River Lagan providing the only riverside dining experience in Belfast.
Nicholas Northam, Managing Director for the UK at Interstate Europe, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Lisa to the Interstate team at what is a very exciting time for the company.
“Lisa’s expertise and drive will be a real asset to the AC Hotel by Marriott which is set to add a fresh, new element to the Belfast hotel and restaurant scene. We know it is going to be a huge success with Lisa at the helm and are looking forward to the hotel opening in spring.”
