Interstate expands UK portfolio significantly in 2015

Interstate Europe, part of leading global hotel management company Interstate Hotels & Resorts, achieved significant expansion of its UK portfolio in 2015.

Last year saw the company add no fewer than 29 new hotels to its UK portfolio and open four brand new hotels: Holiday Inn Express London Excel; Hilton at the Ageas Bowl; Hampton by Hilton Newcastle; and DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool.

Interstate Europe added five new franchise brands under management to its UK portfolio: Hilton; Radisson Blu; ibis; Crowne Plaza; and Ramada. In addition there are 11 new build or refurbishment hotels in its signed pipeline for 2016.

Robert Crook, Interstate’s managing director for the UK, said: “2015 was a year of considerable growth as we added to our portfolio of full and select service branded hotels throughout the length and breadth of the UK.

“We will continue to work hard alongside hotel owners to realise the full potential of their hotel assets this year and look forward to the introduction of many more new hotels throughout 2016. Indeed, in the first months of this year, we have added Radisson Blu Cardiff, Felbridge Hotel and Spa, and the Hilton Swindon into our portfolio, in addition to opening the Ibis Styles Reading.”

Interstate Europe’s current UK portfolio comprises: 64 operational hotels with 12 in its signed pipeline. This includes 20 health clubs including four luxury spas as well as various food and beverage brands, including Marco Pierre White, Jean Christophe-Novelli and Starbucks.

Meanwhile, during its continued growth, Interstate Europe’s UK division has also raised over £15,000 for its nominated charity Macmillan through a series of fundraising events including: a bake-off; dress down day; mince pie sales and Christmas jumper day, making it ahead of its target to raise over £50,000 for the charity. Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
