Vice President of Human Resources
An industry experienced professional, Alison is responsible for the human resources executive team and overall hotel-based HR activity across all the Interstate-managed hotels and businesses in the UK, currently 2,200 employees. She also manages the Training Academy which provides the training and development needed to support the business development and required standards of operation.
Alison joined the company following Interstate’s acquisition of Chardon Management Ltd in September 2013. With Chardon since 2000, she established the working policies and practices for the company covering all size and brand of hotel as well as creating a library of on and off-job training that the Training Academy delivers to the hotels and other third-party hotel-based executives and staff. She has managed multiple TUPE transfer situations the largest being for 1,000 staff and adopted change management training to assist de-branding/re-branding activities across multiple sites and integration of new hotels into the portfolio. In addition she has managed the recruitment and training for many new hotel openings and tailored and implemented an HR software package to integrate payroll, HR and training functions for a group of hotels, making management information accessible at both hotel and owner group level.
She holds a BA in Hotel and Catering Management from the University of Strathclyde and a PGDip in Human Resources from Robert Gordon’s University.
